Airshows attended by Airmaster

November 2002

Aviex is one of Australia's biggest airshows with a combination of trade days and public days available.
Airmaster Propellers Ltd were represented by its Australian distributer Bert Flood Imports.  There was strong interest in the Rotax / Airmaster combination from a wide variety of aircraft owneres and builders.

Customers were especially interested to see how  the  insides of the AP332 worked..  The demonstration propeller with cutaway sides allowed people to fully appreciate the workmanship that goes in to each Airmaster propeller.    The fully working example was used to demonstrate some of the finer points of the sophisticated "Smartpitch" constant speed controller.

July 2002

The 2002 Oshkosh airshow was the 50th anniversary of the event and as usual was attended by thousands of spectators and exhibitors.
Working examples of the Airmaster AP332 could be seen both on the Airmaster stand (left) and on the Europa Aircraft stand.  The Europa display included several flying aircraft and a full cabin mock-up (shown here) including propeller.  This gave customers a real experience of how thier finished aircraft might feel like.

New Pivotal Engine
As part of Airmasters involvement in the development of new aviation technology, an AP332 propeller was used to demonstrate the aviation application of the new Pivotal engine.  Paul McLachlan (left) and Nick Turner were kept busy throughout the entire show explaining the workings and benefits of this revolutionary new concept in engine design.  For the purposes of the display it was coupled to the propeller using a SUB4 gear reduction box.

Electric Airplane!
Other high tech projects on show that that Airmaster Propellers Ltd was involved with were the FASTec fuel cell powered electric aircraft (left) and the Space Exploration Corp "Pegasus" (right).  Fastec hopes to be the worlds first electric powered aircraft using fuel cells to generate the required electricity to complete a 500 mile journey.  Airmaster were asked to provide a high quality, efficient electrically actuated propeller for the project.  Ground tests are underway with flight testing due to begin shortly.  Space Exploration Corp selected an Airmaster propeller for thier new generation quick build (200hrs) Pegasus aircraft.  The Airmaster will be provided as "standard kit" for this high performing aircraft.
