We often operate two up and full fuel and generally get off a grass runway in approx 150 - 200m…probably about a third less than with the fixed pitch prop. I cannot hold the aircraft on the brakes at full throttle on the grass…this prop just drags the aircraft with the wheels locked.
Climb rate is usually 900-1000ft/min and often 1200-1300 ft/min (have seen 1500 ft/min 1 up)More elevator and rudder "feel" on finals due to being able to use higher prop rpm.
Flight plan on 115knots at 27.5 MAP on 15 litres per hour about 30kg under gross - we usually see 120 knots after 20 litres of fuel has been used.
However one of great side effects is how much smoother the three blades make the engine feel, plus my wife loves the shiny spinner!
